Helice - World Cup Helice -
Rome - December 2011. TRIPLE CROWN FOR NATHAN HALES. After winning
the World and European Helice Championships, Nathan went to Rome
for the last leg of the World Cup. This enabled him to win the Junior
World Cup outright giving him his triple crown for 2011, he is our
only junior to have won all 3 events!
Dionne Rogers finished the year with a Bronze medal in the World
Cup and in the last Grand Prix competition in Rome she won the ladies
and came 3rd overall. Our adopted American, Cyril Adams, won a Gold
Medal the final leg of the World Cup which enabled him to win the
Super Veterans World Cup outright.
Helice - For the European Helice
Championship to be held in Porto, April 2012, the Fitasc Helice
commission has decided to have a trial shoot using a different format
of shooting. The competition will be 30 targets, no elimination.
This will be achieved by using five shooting positions; on each
layout you will shoot ten targets within 5- 10 minutes.
The entry cost will be kept low as the club will provide only trophies
and not prize money, however there will be an optional side purse
available (as we already do here). There are no changes to the refereeing
rules, but for this trial shoot we will no longer call "ready
" and we will stand 25m in front of box 3 on stand 3. The 5
stands distance apart will be 2.5 m to each centre, the same as
UT.
If this experiment is successful this could be the new format for
Helice in the future. The World Championships in Rome in June 2012
will be as normal with medals and prize money and elimination.
All- The ISSF have cancelled
the Cairo World Cup and rearranged it for 1-8 May at Lonato (also
new dates for Cyprus GP, 27 Feb - 5 March) this will mean restructuring
our calendar. The new (but probably still very unstable) calendar
will be published as soon as possible.
UTR - The 2012 UTR ECH is to
be held at Lonato, Italy on 15 - 17 June. The WCH is to be held
at Club O Pinhal, Pera, Portugal on 6 - 9 September 2012.
ISSF- For those of you who like
to plan ahead, the 2011-13 venues are here,
