2019 UT Selection Shoot Policy

BICTSF UT MANDATORY SELECTION CRITERIA

1. The Primary selection criteria will be:
      • British Citizenship / Passport.
      • Current member of the CPSA or recognized ‘Home Countries’ governing body
      • Current member of the BICTSF
      • Highest number of Ranking Points (refer to point 2) for the appropriate categories i.e. Juniors, Ladies, Men, Seniors and Veterans

RANKING PROCEDURE
2. 0 (zero) ranking points are awarded to the High Overall Score (HOS) in each category at each Championship events detailed in point 1.

The next highest score in that category is awarded points relating to the difference of the HOS i.e. HOS score = 182 (0 points) next highest score = 179 (3 points) and so on.

3. The competitors with the lowest total amount of points when the cut-off for selection is completed will be offered a TEAM GB position.
The 3 competitors in each category with the lowest amount of ranking points will automatically be offered a team place in their appropriate category and the reserves will be notified of their reserve position. Teams including reserves in each category will only be selected from the top 6 positions from the current rankings.


RESOLVING TIES
4 For the European and World Championship Team and reserve positions ties will be resolved by shoot off.

5. The shoot off will take place as soon as practicable after the results are known at the Selection Cut-Off event. The Shoot off will consist of
25 targets full use and if still tied followed by miss and out.

6 Competitors nominated and called forward to present themselves at the shoot off position, must be ready to compete within fifteen (15)
minutes of being called forward to the shoot off.

7 Should any of the tied competitors be absent from the venue, or not ready to compete within fifteen minutes of notice to compete, then
their place will be forfeited and the shoot off will continue in their absence providing there are other competitors tied on the same points,
for the position(s) on offer. if only one tied competitor is present then the position will be awarded to that competitor by default.

8. Should none of the shooters be present to shoot-off then ‘Countback’ will be used, starting with the result from the BGP Championship (for
the European Team) and the UK Championships (for the World Team). The decision of the Directors in this regard is final.

10. The UT Directors reserve the right to defer the shoot off to a more appropriate time should poor light or extreme weather conditions prevent fair competition taking place.

11. If after following the above selection criteria the UT Directors are unable to form a team in one or any of the aforementioned categories, then a team(s) will not be represented in that category(s).

12.  Should exceptional circumstances dictate i.e. should a team member be incapacitated for any reason, due to health, discipline or
unforeseen travel arrangements, and then not be available at the competition venue prior to commencement of the event,  the UT Director and Team Manager can substitute that missing team member in the spirit of competition and fair play, from shooters at the event.

2nd - 2018 South Wales 2000 Shooting Ground  - SS and SOYF

3rd - 2019 Nuthampsted - SS and EO 30th + 31st March 2019

4th - 2019 Brook Bank - SS and BGP 4th + 5th May 2019 – Cut off for the European Championships

1st - 2019 Nuthampsted - SS and EO 30th + 31st March 2019

2nd - 2019 Brook Bank - SS and BGP 4th + 5th May 2019.

3rd - 2019 Fauxdegla - SS and UK Championships 22nd + 23rd June 2019.

4th - 2019 SW2000 - SS and Welsh GP 20th + 21st July 2019 - Also this is the Cut off for the WCH

 

2020 Selection policy Possible Shoots to count (dependent on the 2020 ECH and WCH dates more info late 2019).

2nd - 2019 Brook Bank - SS and Shooter of the Year Final 

 

If you are likely to be in contention for a team place that might require a shoot off if you are tied with someone else, then you MUST not leave the ground on those cut off days until the team has been finalised. 

If you are likely to be in contention for a team place but you have no intention of taking up that place, please let the UT Directors know at the very start of the 'cut off shoot'.
